School Format

Students are periodically evaluated for their performance in the class and graded accordingly. Those failing to meet the required standards are given special and focussed attention. Parents are kept informed of their children's progress regularly. The parents can interact with the school any time regarding the performance of their children.

A unidirectional teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a multidirectional group workshop method. Here the teacher becomes the group co-ordinator initiating work, nurturing students without the phobia of examinations and homework. Development of oral and written expression is emphasized upon.

The Formative Years (Nursery, KG)

Nachiketa School lays great emphasis on providing our younger children with a friendly, warm and homely environment. The classrooms are well equipped and brightly decorated to exude a feeling of belonging. An Activity Center and Play Park designed by Education Experts provides areas for leisure and relaxation for the little ones outside their classrooms. The teaching at this level is activity based and modern methods of teaching like play way and role play are extensively used for imparting education.

Our pre-primary children blossom in a nurturing environment. Two class teachers and a lady support staff for each section caters to individual needs of the little ones. Hands-on activities - experiments like cooking without fire, music and dance are provided with opportunities for each child to maximize his/her potential in a comfortable and non-competitive environment.

The Primary(Class I to V):-

The junior school is the first step forwards for our little ones as they enter Class I. The basic inputs that the child has been provided at the formative stage are consolidated at this level as the students become capable of understanding basic concepts of the various subjects.

The junior school curriculum is child centered and activity based so that learning is made fun and enjoyable.

The Middle School (Class VI to VIII):-

When the child enters Class VI, the school helps him make the transition from a protected environment to one where he develops his individuality and personality. The child is also encouraged to develop his interest in specific subjects as per his/her aptitude and potential so that in the later years he may specialise in his chosen areas. The subjects are taught by specialist teachers trained specifically for teaching particular subjects. The curriculum includes English, Hindi, Maths and Science, Social Sciences, Arts, Music, and a third language with special emphasis on English.

The Senior School (Class IX to XII):-

THE Senior School student must prepare for the first major examination of his/her life, the state Board Examination of Class X and XII. At this level the school will strive to provide a scholarly yet stress-free environment to enable the student to achieve the goals and standards. The teachers at this stage would be recognized experts in their fields so that the students can be provided every opportunity to excel in academics. The senior school children also take the first step into adulthood and need adequate guidance and counselling from all concerned, hence the teachers are encouraged to be their friend, philosopher and guide. The school offers specialized courses of study in class XI and XII so that the students can be prepared for the careers that they wish to pursue later in life. Students are encouraged to set career goals for themselves; to hone their learning and study skills as well as their interpersonal and leadership abilities. In the area of career enhancement, students have opportunities to connect with mentors through our Career Counselling and Life-skills programmes run by qualified professional teams.
